The mono pitch roof is always made out of one single roofing surface. This kind of roofing is true to its name. Mono meaning single and the slope is referred to as the pitch. Skillion roofs tend to be fairly steeply pitched which allows water to run off more effectively than on flatter roofs.

The single sloped surface of a skillion roof is not attached to another roof surface making it quite different from a dual pitched or gable roof.
